Spelling Bee Club

Spelling Bee Club
We are looking for a parent chair/volunteers to help form a Spelling Bee Club.  The benefits children receive from participating in a spelling bee can last a lifetime. Spelling bees ask students to rise to the occasion and learn a variety of advanced words. In doing so, they learn not only the words themselves, but also the study skills and self-discipline that they need to complete a challenging task. In addition, students learn to compete graciously, accept mistakes, and celebrate their successes, just as they do on the baseball or soccer field. At the same time, these events teach them that academic accomplishment is something of which they can be proud. So even if your child doesn’t take home the top award from the school spelling bee, the skills they develop along the way may just propel them much farther in life than they ever dreamed.

Great spellers are great readers. Read what your child reads, and ask your child about the spellings and meanings of some of the words in the reading material.

Let Kinzie Farrell know if you or your child(ren) have any interest in participating!
