The PTO has many committees needing chairs and volunteers. Here’s a basic description of committees under community, fundraising, and programs.
Book Fair Committee- 2 Chairs, 10 committee members
This committee works with the MRC Librarian, Mrs. Colon to plan and execute fall and spring book fairs. Proceeds benefit the Lane School MRC.
Golf Fundraiser Committee- 6 chairs
This committee organizes the Lane’s Fall golf fundraising event.
Holiday Market Committee- 3 Chairs, 8 committee members
This committee plans, sets up, and executes day of Market in our MPR & Gym a December evening. Students are able to purchase holiday gifts for family. Proceeds benefit the benevolent fund.
Kids Care Club- 2 chairs
This is a service based club for Lane school students. They work on projects benefitting the community and school. Kid’s Care Club Chairs and volunteers support the school year round planning 3-5 projects.
MRC Library Helpers- 2 chairs, 16 committee members
This Committee assists MRC Librarian, Mrs. Colon and Mrs. McNamara with shelving books, organizing legos, paper/laminating in the MRC every other week.
Marla’s Fun Lunch- 4 chairs, multiple weekly volunteers
This committee assists with organizing lunches by class during both lunch halves each Wednesday and last Friday of the month.
Maker Night- 2 chairs, 8 committee members
This committee identifies STEM activities for the students and runs evening event.
Parent Night Out- 2 chairs, 4 committee members
This committee is able to plan a night out Fall & Spring. Responsible to find location, plan event, and bring Lane School Parents together.
Room Parent Chair
This volunteer prepares room parent calendar and expectations for a great year. Will meet with room parents in September and communicate with them each month.
School Store Committee- 5 chairs
Our parent volunteers assist our 5th grade students running our school store Fall & Spring. Responsible for managing sales before school once a week.
School Supplies- 2 chairs
This committee works with teachers & staff to set up and order specific school supply list with our vendor. Responsible to advertise sign ups for the next year, and organize the school supply boxes the week before school starts.
Social Media Chair
This volunteer will work with the PTO executive board to create and post the pto’s social media posts and stories. This volunteer role runs year round.
Spirit Wear Chair
This volunteer organizes and chooses spirit wear options for the school year. Typically we have spirit wear offered 2-3 times a school year.
Staff Appreciation Committee- 2 Chairs
The chairs are responsible to plan and organize gifts from the PTO to various staff. During the school year this includes: National Admin Day, National Librarian Day, etc…
Variety Show Committee- 2 Chairs, 8 committee members
This committee will plan our spring variety/talent show from start to finish. They’ll work with students to prepare for the show and organize set up and day of show.
Teacher Appreciation Week Committee- 4 chairs
This committee will plan our daily events for teachers & staff during teacher appreciation week (May) Responsible to work within pto budget for a daily “thank you” from our pto parents.
